Development of Sustainable Energy Master Plan for Central Banat

Serbian partners started with the development of the Sustainable Energy Master Plan for the central Banat region.  In the previous few months, competent Agency has been hired to perform different types of activities such as:

  • analysis of the current state in the area of energy efficiency in buildings, public lighting, public transportation and using of renewable energy sources (wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and natural and artificial watercourses)
  • analysis of potentials for energy consumption optimization and using of renewable energy sources
  • Preparation of action plan for decreasing of energy consumption reduction and increasing in using of renewable energy sources based on previously conducted analysis and cost-benefit analysis.

The master plan will provide the analysis of the current state in the energy field, explain the potentials and possibilities, and provide the guidelines for increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources in the region. It should become a strategic instrument, correlating public policies and local/regional strategies with the pragmatic approach of the market, giving the latter a sense of direction and general advisory limits and ranges for maximum sustainability of the future development.
