About Center

Regional Centre for Energy Efficiency Banat (RCEE) will represent institutional support to the process of energy transitions in the territory of Banat region. As a regional mechanism for coordination and direction of the strategic energy efficiency development, i.e. its integration on local level, its activities will contribute to the rationalization of energy consumption and conservation of natural resources in the region, all in accordance with national and EU guidelines and obligations. In its work, the RCEE - Banat will perform the following activities:

  • Initiation, harmonization and coordination of various initiatives within the energy transition sector;
  • Identification, preparation and implementation of projects of regional/local importance for energy efficiency, exploitation of renewable energy sources and environmental protection;
  • Development and monitoring of regional local strategic documents in the sustainable energy sector and their harmonization with other priority sectors;
  • Networking of all relevant actors in the region and creation of mechanisms for cooperation between the public-private-civil sector;
  • Mobilization of existing as well as development of missing capacities in the region, necessary for future energy transition processes;
  • Cooperation with relevant organizations and institutions in the country and abroad;
  • Attracting external sources of financing and investment in the sector of sustainable energy in the region;
  • Improving the level of awareness and knowledge of stakeholders about the importance of sustainable energy consumption;
  •             Demonstration of the latest technologies in the field of improving energy efficiency.

All of the above mentioned will be based on the principle of sustainable energy transition and adaptation to climate changes, using knowledge and examples of good practice from the EU.
